Web Handling System

Genesis was hired to create a handling system to prepare single-piece large format billboard posters for final installation. This machine was required to precisely handle and monitor large rolls of 3 meter width plastic web material.

Stretch, indexing, and specific material properties were accounted for early in the design process. Thanks to a modular approach to design, the customer's needs were easily met by splitting the whole assembly into two separate machines to facilitate an unexpected material process change.

While the details are of course proprietary, the initial machine has been duplicated, and both have been in service for over a decade. The customer has experienced significant growth, becoming a world leader in their industry thanks in part to the efficiency and reliability of their Genesis-designed machine.
